Terms & Conditions

Please read & understand the term in which we agree to supply catering services. Confirmation of our booking services either in writing or verbally will be taken as acceptance of our quoted charges & these terms.

All prices will be quoted to individual needs of our customer, these are net of VAT. When items on the menu form part of catering for a function whether business or private, then VAT at the current rate will be added.

A 25% deposit of the quotation price required when food/event confirmation order is completed. No event date will be held without deposit unless arrangements have been made with the management.

Further 50% of quotation price to be paid one week in advance of event.

Local delivery is free of charge within 10 miles. 40p per mile thereafter, for each vehicle required for the event.

Food left over

It is not our policy to leave left over food as it is never the same the next day. If, however, you wish for us to leave the food, we can transfer it to your dishes once the service staff have been fed.

Cleaning Up

We always leave an event as neat & tidy as possible & we undertake to leave the kitchen as we found it. We will not, however, clean the function area but will leave it neat & tidy.

Rubbish will be left in neat bags for your dustmen to collect.

Hire Equipment

The customer is responsible for any loss or damage to the goods from the time of collection or delivery until they are returned to the hire company. No substitutes will be accepted in place of our own equipment & all shortages & breakages will be charged for at replacement costs. You will be notified of any payment outstanding due to breakages after the event.

Staff

Prices for hire staff starts from £7.50 an hour to £10.50 an hour, depending on experience & age. These prices are fixed until midnight, when the hour rate is increased to time & a half. You will be notified of any payment outstanding due to extra/overtime work of staff hours after the event.

Numbers

The high quality of our catering depends on every event we undertake being separately planned, purchased & cooked. This does mean strict terms regarding numbers.

All prices quoted are for a specific number of guests. When numbers drop, our overheads do not reduce proportionally & therefore our menu prices increase.

We require confirmation of numbers one week before the event.

If the number of guests attending exceeds the numbers booked (& we are able to cater for them) we will charge for the greater number

If the number of guests attending is less than the number booked we will still charge the total number booked.

Cancellation

When a date is booked we reserve staff & kitchen time for that function on that date & we will refuse other events which come in later. Therefore cancellation charges are payable for any cancellation of a confirmed date - 2 weeks notice 50%, 1 weeks notice 100% full payment required.

Damage to property

If Davenports, Quality Fine Foods property is wilfully or negligently damaged or stolen at a function, the replacement cost is payable to the client

If we book a marquee or other property on behalf of the client, the responsibility or security or damage to property rests with the client

If a client’s property is wilfully or negligently damaged by Davenports, Quality Fine Foods, we will be responsible under our liability insurance.

Ingredients

Whilst every effort will be made to produce the exact agreed menus, we reserve the right to alter a particular ingredient if it is not available.
